The house has a quite long history, since the beginning of 1800 when it was a small farm to becoming a rather large summer house a houdered years later, under the hands of the bank manager Ekman. The picture is taken 1928.
Ekman also build a nail factory with its own power station.
In the 1940´s the familly sold the house to the Schwartz who ran a boarding house for a couple of years. But times where tough with ration cupons for everything, which led to an end for the boarding house after only a few years.
The house has also been a refugee camp for a longer period of time, both after the second World war when people came from Estonia, Poland and Belarus, and during the Hungary crisis.
In the late 1960´s Volvi in Olofström recruted workers from the former Yugoslavia and many of the famillies got their first new nome in Sweden in Östafors. Volvo turned Östafors into six two bedroom apartments.
In 1981 we found this wonderful house and we oponed Vävboden that same autumn. Today the store is open in agreement between me and my customers. We also have a webbstore where you can find yarn, doll material and also some interesting hard ware items from the 1920-70´s.
